SUMMARY:The Mighty Craic at the RACC
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy “The Mighty Craic” at the RACC\, Monday\, March 2nd at 6:30 PM! \n“The Mighty Craic” is a collaboration by three of the area’s well known Irish musicians who have joined to celebrate and perform Irish Traditional Music\, as well as blending it with Americana\, Rock\, and Bluegrass to bring plenty of “Craic” to the music. (Craic is a Gaelic word\, with no exact English translation. The closest you get is “fun.”) \n$5 donation at the door\, drinks available for a donation! \nBiography:\nThe group consists of Jessica Hilterbrandt on percussion and accordion\, Amanda Straney on vocals and fiddle\, and Bill Fahy on vocals\, guitar\, and mandolin. \nJessica is currently a member of one of the area’s top Rock bands\, the Crazy Fools and past member of the Blarney Rebel Band. Jessica is a well-known drummer\, accomplished bodhran player\, and also plays the accordion . \nAmanda sings and plays the fiddle. In addition to performing with Mighty Craic she also plays with Craobh Dugan\, the Hamilton Orchestra\, Soldiers Joy\, and also was a past member of the Blarney Rebel Band. \nBill sings and plays guitar and mandolin and has been performing for over 20 years in Central NY – with the Summit Park Rangers\, Mohawk Valley Bluegrass\, and in Soldiers Joy with Amanda. \nThe band has played at many of the area’s leading music venues including performances at the Great American Irish Festival\, The Park Coffee House\, the Five Points Public House\, and The Rome Art and Community Center. \n“We love our Irish Roots\, but also enjoy Rock and Roll\, Bluegrass and Country. You’ll hear driving fiddle tunes\, pub songs\, ballads\, sea shanties\, and a whole lot more. The Craic will be mighty”
