DESCRIPTION:Every November Rome Art and Community Center transforms the architectural masterpiece that is the Carpenter House into the beloved tradition\, Holiday House. Adorned with decorations\, trees\, lights\, and a little holiday magic the majestic Tudor mansion will become the scene for “A Carpenter Christmas”. This event is one of The Center’s largest fundraisers of the year. It allows them to provide numerous community activities including FREE summer concerts\, music\, stories\, and art for kids\, dinner concerts\, summer camp\, Montessori style pre-k and so much more community enrichment. Once the stage is set over 40 vendors move their products into the house for a two weekend long shopping extravaganza that supports not only The Art Center but numerous local businesses. This year back by popular demand is their Opening Night Gala on Friday\, November 10th at 6pm \n\nOur Opening Night Gala will kick off our two weekends of shopping! Tickets are $25 per person and include complimentary hors d’oeuvres\, wine\, and beer. DESCRIPTION:Jam with The Band is back!!! \nEvery second Monday of the month the Mohawk Valley Bluegrass Association joins us for a concert and Jam Session.\nDoors open at 6:30pm\n$5 suggested donation\nBeer\, wine\, and refreshments will be available by donation.\nMusicians who play bluegrass music are encouraged to bring their instruments to join in and jam with the band after the concert. Our host for the evening and leading the jam session is Bill Fahy.\nThe first one of the season will feature The Boom Chickens!!\nThe Boom Chickens are a local\, free range folk trio based out of Utica\, NY. Their upbeat shows treat audiences to a mix of original tunes\, folk classics\, and acoustic covers— all delivered with their signature three-part harmonies and creative instrumental arrangements. These long-time friends bring a joyful energy to their shows\, drawing listeners in with a mix of earnest sensitivity and raucous play.
