SUMMARY:Opening Reception | CNYWS All-Member Watercolor Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:Opening Reception: Saturday\, May 3 | 2:00 – 4:00 PMExhibition Dates: May 3 – 30\, 2025 \nThe Rome Art and Community Center is proud to present the first-ever All-Member Exhibition by the Central New York Watercolor Society (CNYWS)\, showcasing original works by both Associate and Signature members. This special exhibit will highlight the diverse talent within the society—from artists presenting their work publicly for the first time to those who have exhibited across New York State and beyond. \nFounded to support and promote the watercolor medium\, CNYWS encourages artists at all stages of creative development\, offering mentorship opportunities through a Signature Member mentor program. The society’s Signature Members have earned this designation through a juried evaluation of six original works\, assessed on technical proficiency\, design\, and artistic voice. These members are also eligible to pursue Medallion status through continued exhibition excellence. \nMany pieces will be available for purchase\, offering art lovers a chance to take home one-of-a-kind works by emerging and established artists. \nThe exhibit is co-chaired by CNYWS President Kathleen Guthrie\, along with members Denise Ernst and Lynne Reichhart. \nJoin us at the opening reception on May 3 from 2 to 4 PM to meet the artists and explore the vibrant range of watercolor talent across Central New York. \nFor more about CNYWS\, visit centralnewyorkwatercolorsociety.org.

SUMMARY:The Ingersoll's | Mohawk Valley Bluegrass Association’s “Jam With the Band” Night
DESCRIPTION:An evening of bluegrass\, community\, and musical collaboration! \nJoin the Mohawk Valley Bluegrass Association for a special “Jam With the Band” Night featuring The Ingersoll’s! It’s a great opportunity to meet fellow musicians\, learn new tunes\, and celebrate the shared love of bluegrass in the Mohawk Valley. \n\nElizabeth “Liz Fiddle” Simchik\nLiz has been entertaining audiences with her wild fiddling and powerhouse vocals for over 20 years. She’s an active part of everyone’s music scene\, and is an integral part of music education in the alternative sector. A freelance musician and owner and operator of both Music With Liz studio and The State Bridge Collective\, she is a versatile violinist and heavily involved in collaborations with many musicians. Her music draws influence from western\, swing and her sound is very rootsy\, Appalachian.\n\nJeff Ingersoll\nDrawing from a deep well of influences ranging from the classic bluegrass of his childhood to the jazz\, swing\, Celtic and pop music he discovered during his tenure at ETSU\, Ingersoll has earned accolades for his work with a broad spectrum of performing ensembles. In 2013\, he secured first place in the Norwich Bluegrass Festival Band Competition as a member of the Ingersoll Brothers.\n\n\nJeff and Liz started making music together late in 2022 and have been exhilarating audiences throughout the east coast ever since.
