SUMMARY:Jam With the Band - Liz Fiddle and Jeff Ingersoll
DESCRIPTION:Every second Monday of the month the Mohawk Valley Bluegrass Association joins us for a concert and Jam Session.\nDoors open at 6:30pm\n$5 suggested donation\nBeer\, wine\, and refreshments will be available by donation.\nMusicians who play bluegrass music are encouraged to bring their instruments to join in and jam with the band after the concert. Our host for the evening and leading the jam session is Bill Fahy. \n  \nElizabeth “Liz Fiddle” Simchik.\nLiz has been entertaining audiences with her wild fiddling and powerhouse vocals for over 20 years. She’s an active part of everyone’s music scene\, and is an integral part of music education in the alternative sector. A freelance musician and owner and operator of both Music With Liz studio and The State Bridge Collective\, she is a versatile violinist and heavily involved in collaborations with many musicians. Her music draws influence from western\, swing and her sound is very rootsy\, Appalachian.\n\nJeff Ingersoll\nDrawing from a deep well of influences ranging from the classic bluegrass of his childhood to the jazz\, swing\, Celtic and pop music he discovered during his tenure at ETSU\, Ingersoll has earned accolades for his work with a broad spectrum of performing ensembles. In 2013\, he secured first place in the Norwich Bluegrass Festival Band Competition as a member of the Ingersoll Brothers.\n\nJeff and Liz started making music\ntogether late in 2022 and have been exhilarating audiences throughout the east coast ever since. Though each of them have a unique set of varied influences\, they find common ground in singer/songwriter\, folk and American genres of music. They are equally at home performing at a small business\, concert hall or theater\, church\, or private function. The two wield a beautiful folk-grass sound. They have moments of harmonic beauty and fire through bluegrass standards while blending the accompaniment of fiddle and guitar. A foot-stomping good time with respect to traditional roots
